Weezer - Pink Triangle

#MusicLicoIntroducedMeTo

Weezer, River Cuomo more specifically (the album Pinkerton even more specifically), was a huge influence for me growing up. Thank God my brother, Lico, introduced me to this album. I remember singing this song when I was in junior high, not even knowing what the lyrics meant. God, what were my parents thinking when they heard me sing this one in the shower? Ha.

2DopeBoyz features DOJO artists C Plus and Uptown Swuite alongside DOJO affiliates Nicatyne and Moe Green for this ode to California. Big shout out to Jansport J on the production and all the other MC’s that laced the track. It’s clear that a new generation of west coast artists is beginning to emerge, LATD is honored to have artists that are apart of that. We’ll keep this push alive til the wheels fall off.

Let’s ride.

Hey Tumblr…

All this “We’ll be back shortly” business is starting to make wordpress look real nice right about now.

You should have never come back to Sacramento.

He’s probably right. You told me this a long time ago also, I should have listened.

Drake and Nickelus F. - A.M. 2 P.M.

I remember first hearing this song when I first got with State Cap. This is when C Plus was heavy on discovering good hip hop on myspace music. The craziest part was that at one point, Bosse was messaging Drake kinda consistently just on some cool shit. Damn, we should have gotten some tracks in with him while he was still just Jimmy

Oh well, See you at the top.

Good morning.

RUFIO x ARAMI - COULDA BEEN ‘08

Live at the DOJO’s newest production team addition, Rufio, teams up with MC Arami to drop Coulda Been ‘08; an ode to the girls from their high school days that could have been. Story of our lives right?
I’m pretty stoked on what were going to do with Rufio this year. His production has an honest quality that I’ve been waiting to hear from new producers for a long time. This is by no means his only release with LATD. I really wish I could spill the beans about what’s in store but you’ll just have to stay tuned this year. For now, open up a yearbook and reminisce about the one’s that coulda been.
